Being rather busy all last week and not having a camera I passed the responsibility of blog photos over to Saz. She came up trumps ~ as usual ~ and emailed me the following photos. I hope you enjoy them
A view of our beautiful Kingston beachfront on an equally beautiful Pacific summer's day
Aatuti (little rock fish) swimming unconcernedly in the lagoon with Duane and Saz and they're snorkelling
Duane on the reef that runs along the outside of the lagoon, thereby keeping all things nasty well away and out to sea
...another snapshot of Duane (remembering it's Saz's camera) enjoying the peace of the Pacific
...and in the water scaring away the innocent marine life!
Later that same afternoon Saz had a brainwave. She would bake my very favourite biccis/cookies. What a pearl of an idea
Here's the recipe, beautifully presented as all her work is
Biccis/cookies with half of them cooked and almost ready for me
Loading up the trays and ensuring that there'll be enough for the three of us!
Mixing the dough and generally teasing us as the smells assault our little noses
A closeup of the beautiful bouquet of flowers that she brought to Flagstaff
Gifts ~ bouquet of flowers, porpieh, biccis/cookies, stawberries etc. Love you Saz
What an absolutely wonderful way to spend a weekend.
Then Duane got in on the act and made us pikelets with porpieh jelly and cream. Nom Nom Nom. Missing you Chel!
Finally a photograph of the setting sun sending the last glorious rays across Kingston.
A tiny little island, 5 miles by 3 miles with 1800 people on it have relatives and friends on the West Island (Australia) who might just want to know what those at home are getting up to. Let me tell you about us.......

A Day in Tweed
Our Chel’s away at Uni and we miss her very much
We worry that she’s missing out on all the fun and such
But then some emails lob right in and we can clearly see
That our dear Chel’s ain’t missing out at all ~ it’s Dids and me
Pip and Miki picked her up with Puds and Jai there too
And drove on down the coast abit to find something to do
They stopped to rest at Shelly’s place to have a little chat
With Ruth and Foxy, Janine too ~ what do we think of that?
I’ve told you Norfolk Islanders are very fond of food
Not that we’re obsessed or greedy cos that would sound quite rude
No, it’s just we’re connoisseurs of food and drink and treats
Of lobster, chicken pie and feta; of anything that’s sweet
And a chocolate cake made just for me! though I’m not there to eat
I’m over on our little Isle, getting thinner by the beat
I’m used to treats at Allandale, pie and cake and slice
To eat a chocolate cake for me, whilst away in Auz, aint nice
They’ve got the table set right up, out in the garden eating
It’s legs are groaning from the weight and my little heart is beating
Chris cooked fresh water lobster ~ “Delicious” was Chel’s word
She sent a photo of it ~ the blasted little nurd
Chicken pie, lobster pie, a slice of spinach and feta
beautiful salads, an entrĂ©e of Muffins ~ “Hey Mum, what’s the matter?”
Shell cooked you a chocolate cake, it couldn’t have been better
All this lovely food for us and a wonderful fruit platter.
Chel said they thought about me, but I think she’s just a liar
By the time they’d finished up, dem haew a do simes Sia
Cos Jai boy had a soccer game in Bris that afternoon
An important semi final and he had to get back soon
Chel said it was a lucky thing ~ to head to Bris was right
ala dem se bally up en se sti deya hoel night
Shi tull dem haed de baes dieh aewa, de greedy letl cus
En inaa car, dem daa mahoen cos orl se moosa bus!
I’m looking at the photos but I won’t do my block
I’ll just pray to God above that noen a yorlyi chok!
Jai and Miki checking out the highway, the river and the bridge. Naturally, Chel didn't tell me where or when!

Friday night at Hillcrest
We had a good idea! Corinna has new shoes; Gaye has new shoes; Saz has new shoes. Let's promenade! So we all went to Hillcrest for dinner. OMG. It was devine. Absolutely wonderful. The meal was perfect and the new Japanese Chef brought out a serving of sushi accompanied by his own home-made soy sauce, wasabi and teriyaka sauce. I have no photos to show you ~ more's the pity because the shoes were absolutely beautiful ~ because I had no camera. Maybe next time, because we've all clearly stated THAT WE'RE GOING BACK!

Miss Rylee Buffett Davidson
This morning I was the lucky recipient of more photos of Miss Rylee. Isn't she an absolute treasure. I have already asked Alma to bring her home. Don't know what her parents would say about that! Probably won't let her, the selfish things.
Miss Rylee as a precious newborn
Alma already looking dotingly at the tiny fingers around which Alma is wrapped
Daddy and Rylee relaxing together on the rug
Simon and Rylee ~ what a gorgeous photo.
You can see in this photo that Rylee is an absolute Mini Me of Simon. What a cutie.
I asked Alma if this child has a Mother! Evidently we will receive photos of Hayley when Hayley is good and ready. Well done her! Huge congratulations to Simon and Hayley. What an absolute joy!

Thelma's Birthday Party
We received an invitation to Thelma's birthday party. Unfortunately I didn't read it properly did I, so instead of reading starts at 2.00 pm I read the piece that said fried fish and food at 5.30pm. Well when I realised my massive mistake, I took off anyway and thought at least I could apologise to Thelma. She said that it didn't matter because it was going all evening, and as the golfers finished their game they would be joining in.
I then told her that my ulterior motive was to take some party snaps so that Nellie could view them. Thelma agreed wholeheartedly and so here they are Nell.
Thelma and Millie ~ Millie insisting that they started Kindergarten together. No wonder Miss Bataille had a grey hair!
Rob and Tina. Great couple. He showed me how to take better photos. Let's view on and see if it works!
Thelma standing in her doorway, greeting guests
Diesel trying to tell me that he looks gorgeous. (I was talking about the baby Diesel!)
Poor, poor Rees!
Thelma, Dinty and Phil ~ I snapped this between mouthfulls
Thelma and Belinda ~ who seems to be in alot of the snaps
Sue suggesting where I might place the camera
Sam, Allen and James having "man talks" out by the cooker
Rob and Tina showing off to the crowd
Phil displaying his tattoos like some Bird of Paradise preening
Pa and Jane ~ I just caught him before he drove off
Edie following close behind me, also got in on the snap
Millie - I guarantee ef I visit one closet in Israel I gwen a find et deyah
Mark Wellington, Kiri, Ummi en Mrs Ummi
The Evans Clan minus two ~ Lou, Edie, Jean, Borry, Fran and Jan Bradley
Belinda and Terence joining the party
Dinty raiding the drinks cabinet
Chris, Karenne, Gloria Arthur en two more I kaa who's. Gloria has some old photos which she says are seriously worth looking at! Huh. I wunt a si et.
Belinda (yet again) and Kiri's beautiful doll like baby
The sunset over the duck damn on the way home. Unfortunately I'm not very good at taking sunsets so imagine alot more red... Hah! The incredibly talented Cristina Rose read my blog and sent me the above photo of my photo with alot more red!
...and over the pines as I'm heading up to Flagstaff. A beautiful ending to a perfect day. Happy Birthday Thelma
