Back home and it's been rain, rain and more rain. A drive along the common and dodging geese and ducks and......
oops..... can't stop! Almost, nearly, but just not quite, took an unexpected trip into the Kingston creek!
Gosh, imagine Dids if that had greeted him on his way home. Hahahah
A tiny little island, 5 miles by 3 miles with 1800 people on it have relatives and friends on the West Island (Australia) who might just want to know what those at home are getting up to. Let me tell you about us.......

A Rush Job to Sydney to check out my Brain!
My brain was hurting the other day and the Dr's decided to send me off to Sydney for a CAT scan. They didn't mention the lumbar puncture, or perhaps I would have found something else to do, rather than board the flight, but by the time I got there, it was too late and that very very very long needles was inserted into my spine.
Luckily for Dids and I his darling Aunty and Uncle took the two vagrants into their home, for the week that we were there.
Here's Nellie showing us her beach in the late afternoon.
The walk down is amazing and gave Dids all sorts of ideas for the back valley
If you can't be home on the rock, this is a great place to be.
A short walk and you're on the beach.
Dinner is about to be served and it was especially delicious.
Please don't be mistaken into thinking that Dids is about to help. He isn't.
Me and Greg sharing his favourite chair
Thaenks fe aklan you two, and for sharing your beautiful home with us.
A quick drive over to Dizzy's and a photo of the view from his and Viv's front window
The light in the distance is a plane coming in to land
Ruthie was visiting Dizzy and Viv at the time also, so we caught up with our next door neighbour at the same time. Hey, thaenks fe aklan Diz. Yu es riel daalen.

Kingston Reef
Saz sent me a couple of her photos. That's my youngest son lazing in the beautiful clear waters off the Kingston reef, with our cargo ship in the background.
He is also Saz's man, which is why there is a beautiful photo of him, sent to his Mummy. Please notice the water that he's standing in. That is the salt water inside the lagoon at low tide. It is so clear that you can see the coral beneath him and his legs. Sort of. The funny looking thing on his chest is the reflection of his hair in the water. Fantastic photo Saz.

Jess and Cade
Jess came to visit and Cade simply had to have a piece of the butterfly cake. As you can clearly see, each mouthful was delicious.
An Afternoon at Flagstaff
Saz came to visit and brought with her the most beautiful goodies. The talent that some people have on Norfolk Island is truly amazing.
Firstly, a cake absolutely swimming in butterflies. Let me tell you. It was just as delicious as it looks!
These flowers are absolutely real! Saz has had a fun time playing with the icing, the icing sugar, and the food colouring. Then she turned sideways and started on the flowers.
...and the roses. They don't look as stunning in my photo as they do in real life. They are absolutely magnificent. I should have taken a photo of them on the sideboard, but of course, I didn't!

Janet Bear's Pikelets
It's definitely worth a drive to Rooty Hill Road to visit with Janet Bear, her daughter Bridgette and Pixie, who of course, smelled out the pikelets and called in for a visit also!
Chelsea standing in the background because, hey, no show without Punch,
and now me because, no show without Judy! The purple feather boa hanging around my neck was part of my birthday present from Janet and Pixie, the night before!
Janet showing off her skills with quilting. She's made Santa for under her tree. You would have to admit, he's pretty darned cute and she's pretty darned clever.

Biggsie's Fish
Called down to the pier the other afternoon to see what the lad's were up to. Dids was helping them to clean and filet after a day on the sea. There's Dids in his apron with Biggsie looking (trying) to look busy and cottle telling them about the one that got away!
The size of the fish caught was incredible,
but because it's hard to tell from a photo, please check out the 18" - 45 cm filleting knife, held beside it,
or, if you're more familiar with fish bins, you can see that they only just fit into them.
Yet more, of a different type,
and Scotty holding one up so that I can take a photo.
Busy, busy, busy little champs.
