On Wednesday 14th December, Banyan Park Playcentre had their Christmas Pageant and Party for the end of the 2011 year. What a fantastic morning was had by all present. The children lined up to meet and greet their parents, siblings and grandparents, uncles and aunts and friends and sang a Christmas song to start the morning.
The littlies then came out and presented a play called The Three Little Pigs" or, "Dem Thrii Letl Horg". I wrote the work some time ago for the Year 8's to practice and they did, and did it very well, but it was thought it could be adapted for the four year olds.
The teachers had obviously worked very hard to bring the play to their level, and it was very very funny indeed. We had a number of pigs who snorted and squealed, and a number of wolves who huffed and puffed and huffed and puffed, and finally a very large cooking pot!
Saz, Sarah and Wendy with all the little piggies gathered together at their brother's house, built out of Norfolk Pine. All are safe and secure.
There is Mauatua Christian-Reynolds Wolf, looking very fierce indeed
Susie Bigg and Saz Jenkins with their little band of growly wolves, and Yours Truly being the narrator.
Sarah Quintal with her group of little piggies who built the house out of porpieh stik. What little toughies they are.
Here is Wendy Maurice, sitting with the little piggies who built a house out of Norfolk Pine, and although the naughty wolves huffed and puffed and huffed again, they simply COULD NOT blow it down.
Finally, a few Christmas songs to wind the morning up, and then a cup of tea for everyone. Huge thanks to Wendy, Sarah, Susie and Saz for inviting me to join them for a wonderful morning.
