Silent Nights and Christmas Lights

A fun time on Norfolk can be had with the simplest things. For instance, the other night Chelsea and I went driving around the island, looking at Christmas lights. We passed several other people in their cars doing exactly the same thing.

Colleen Crane had gone to a great deal of trouble to make her yard look wonderfully festive. I just couldn't get the camera to do the right thing, so I parked on the other side of the road and climbed up the bank. Chelsea was quite frantic about the whole thing and practically panicked when a car came along! Here you can see her reaching for the car keys as another car drove up behind us. What's she going to do? you may well ask. I haven't a clue! The car drove on and all was well.

We then drove out to Steeles Point, past Stockyard Road, past the DF, out to Simon's Water (what a long, long drive) to finally arrive at the end of the lane, at Coral and Brian's. They had won first prize in the Light Competition and it was well worth it. Unfortunately they had a horrid, snarling, vicious wolfhound guarding the cattlestop. Chelsea of course got out and giggled and petted it, but I sat safely inside the car. Lights were lovely of course.

Next on the list was Cat's Cafe. What an amazing display. Honestly George, you'll be working to outdo yourself next year!

Not only was the display fabulous, but it repeatedly changed as new lights would shine on then flick off to allow others to shine in. A dazzling display!
