A Winter's Weekend
Just spent another weekend sans children. Well sort of. The Eldest Son called up for dinner on Sunday night with Corinna. Now that's the sort of dinner party to have. I put a roast in the crock pot and Corinna drives up ten minutes prior to noshing time with a HUGE tray of baked vegetables, fresh out of Dids farm. Kumera, carrots, fennel bulbs, onion, pumpkin, irish potatoes, and then some cabbage and spinach to round off. Oh yes. Did I mention that she also made a plun pilhai. For those of you who don't speak Norf'k, that's a traditional Norfolk Island dish that was brought over with the Pitcairners - Baked Banana. Yumtious and our answer to Yorkshire pudding.
