A "Thank You" from County Music

Saturday evening there was a "Thank You" to the volunteers who helped out at the County Music Festival, which is held on Norfolk every May. Although the evening was cold, wet and stormy, the inside of the Guide Hall rang with the sound of happy ~ music, laughter, eating, drinking, dancing and generally making merry.

And why wouldn't it ring with laughter with these four maaden 'baut

For some reason, which I can't really fathom, alot of the photos were blurred! I don't know whether it was from too much movement of the subjects, I was walking too fast, or what the reason was

Valentine's Day and Soul Gallery

Cristina emailed Soul Sistas to say that Suzanne had come up with a great idea. We would have a Valentine's Day LOVE exhibition which would open on Sunday 12th February and run until the 14th. What a great idea! Seems we've all been waiting for a push to start something new and this gave us the push we wanted. So! Put on our creative caps and start moving...

I've decided on little folk art hearts, so spoke with David about going out to his shed and working the scroll saw. This is fine by him, so hetieh me, doing the hard yards

Alot of planning goes into these little creative splurges. First you have to think of the idea, then move from thought to reality, then find wood, then trace...

But what an excellent job I'm doing. Just as long as people realise that hand made hasn't quite the same meaning as machine made, with a perfect shape each time

Back home and snug in my little work area, still at the preparation stage. There's sanding and sealing, underpainting and...

Year 7 Norf'k Laengwij en KAVHA

Just in case you were thinking that was my entire day, let me assure you that this morning Year 7 had an excursion to Kingston and a look around KAVHA. The Site Manager, Mr David Magri, took them around and as he spoke Norf'k, it was a great experience all round. Kingston looked magnificent and the students had a change to practice their laengwij. But have a look at the photo. How many school excursions can drive in a bus for five minutes and end up at a view like that!
