Saturday evening there was a "Thank You" to the volunteers who helped out at the County Music Festival, which is held on Norfolk every May. Although the evening was cold, wet and stormy, the inside of the Guide Hall rang with the sound of happy ~ music, laughter, eating, drinking, dancing and generally making merry.
And why wouldn't it ring with laughter with these four maaden 'baut
The more serious of those present (hahahahaha - not!) listening intently to the music
Moving round the table to still more revellers - great night
For some reason, which I can't really fathom, alot of the photos were blurred! I don't know whether it was from too much movement of the subjects, I was walking too fast, or what the reason was
Now. Gaeleen and Kym (oh my gawd look at young Kymi - so innocent) - Cindy and Ren!!!!!!! There is NOTHING more to say
These are one of those photos that should be immediately deleted - but I didn't!
The young uns! Great to see them there
One photo! One photo of the three of them looking serious
Jackie helping Trent out with his strumming
Shane telling Jackie what to do
Kim giving general advise on whatever
Ren trying her darnest to look innocent ~ and failing miserably I might add
Collusionists!
See! They've gone blurry also
Ginny and Jackie paying full attention
Red eyes suits him so well don't you think
JenJen in the thick of it. She is such fun and keeps the whole thing going
Aah. Now here's a shot. Ren and George. No comment!
Hah. Cindy and Kym. Even more no comment!
Aww Cor. I haven't posted the one where she's showing me her naughty finger
Chrissie watching her beautiful daughter
Jill and Suz - No comment
Cor and Jackie - Even more no comment
Up and at 'em! Dancing Queens
Wi se mean et!
Oops. A bit of joviality there Evans!
...and as for these two numbskulls...
...dem probably laughen fe ucklun
Kim and McKenzie
Gorgeous! She's dancing in the chair
Roscoe
Pete putting up with Jackie
Roscoe and Jill
...and one last shot of McKenzie dancing. That's why she's a little blurred. This young lady MOVES.
Great night, great fun - We really missed you Sally, and anyway, you should NEVER let him out alone!
A tiny little island, 5 miles by 3 miles with 1800 people on it have relatives and friends on the West Island (Australia) who might just want to know what those at home are getting up to. Let me tell you about us.......

Friends come fossicking
Last Saturday at Soul who should walk in but Alan and Irene McCoy. Another flying visit to Norfolk to meet up with rellies and friends, and they were delighted to view Maeve's wall.

Standing in front of one of the many interesting walls at Soul Gallery, this time in front of Maeve's display

Maeve's photo has a picture of Alan's uncle, Commie or Leo McCoy

A photo of Maeve herself dancing at the earlier Paradise Hotel

A short description of Maeve's artistic career to date. A fun filled morning and interesting talks about Irene's own oil paintings.

The Elves and the Shoemaker
We all know the story of the elves and the shoemaker. Well, I have my own version. The other day Paula came into my office and advised me that I needed serious re-arranging. I just assumed she meant my office. She couldn't possibly have meant my head!

So here's the outcome. Please note the Gaye Evans paintings that so exquisitely decorate the walls!

Unfortunately I didn't take a BEFORE photo. If I had you would truly understand the depth of my heartfelt gratitude to Paula. Well done.

Soul - Artists Gallery
Saturday morning and it's my turn to work at Soul - Artists Gallery. A collection of ten artists who display their art and crafts at Soul, in Norfolk Island.

Mary Christian-Bailey and Kaye Nobbs, with two entirely different types of work. Kaye's is very island and Mary's is delicate and quite beautiful

Maeve and Beck's wall with Kaye Nobb's sarongs, pareos, tablecloths and Island hats

Lou and Suzanne with a glimpse of Shari's wall. Natalie and Yoyo have left the group and Shari has joined us ~ Great to have you on board

Gaye's wall ~ needs a bit of an update. Haven't painted for a while but I'll get into it

Cristina Rose and her new wall ~ she is the most prolific of us, and always has something new to look at.
If you're on Norfolk then please call in ~ if you're not on Norfolk then come on over and call in anyway

PINK mugs. Very exciting news
Linda the clever one has produced another one of my paintings on a Norfolk Island souvenir mug. It's so exciting to see the frangipani's coming to life in this way but more especially, to know that this is a souvenir made totally, wholly, on Norfolk Island.

Okay, I'm bragging, but it looks really great and when it's put beside one of the coasters. Viola! Yu betchy Brudda.

Yeah I know. My photography has washed out most of the colours. It's a really vibrant pink and I've already sold one and it isn't even in the shop yet. Hah.

Aaaw Chelsea's a Follower...
What a little sweetie! Now you can follow me, following you! And Iskra's a follower also. She must think that we're a mad lot out here on the rock. Hi Iskra! Heard from Thomas today. He's in Dubai and it's hot. But more important than all of that. I have a dead rat in my office. It's somewhere behind one of the very large, very heavy cupboards and I have a sitting of our parliament tomorrow, so I can do absolutely nothing about it. I have to sit here and get the documentation ready. It's ghastly. I'm sure it's against OH&S rules.
Anyway. I arrived at work this morning at 7am (yep. because I'm a nutter.)and the wind was howling like a banshee, and it looked as if it would rain, in any minute, so I went out and put up the flags (yep. because I'm a sweetie.) And although it doesn't look like much in the photo, there's a roaring gale going on out there!

So then I checked out the gardens and there's a beautiful fragile iris which I think, will need to become.......a painting!

Last night, talking 'bout last night...
Ada in Cristina Rose' fairy room. I don't know whether Cristina calls it her fairy room, but I do.
The end of Pauline's wall and a very large hibiscus by Gaye Evans, artiste extraordinaire!
The other side of the room from Pauline's wall. Looks spectacular now that Lou has done some further decorating. I sincerely miss the fact that I didn't get a photo of her up on the ladder but sometimes one has to forgo one's pleasures in light of one's own security! Check out one of the two card stands she got for us.
Pauline's wall as you walk in the front door which continues down to Nat and Yoyo's wall
Maeve and Beck's wall joining onto my wall, Dids gorgeous all Norfolk pine rocking horse and Eve and Doug's frame board
Maeve and Beck's wall looking fantastic, and Ada showing off Gaye's "Contemplation" with Cristina Rose' hihi's in the background

Shades of the Travelling Wilbury's. Went straight to Soul from work and fixed up a wall some charming child had semi prepared by tearing the wallpaper, then a wall in the kitchen and general stuff. Lou and Ada came along and we finally left about 9.45 pm. I know. I know. But tonight is the big night and hopefully I'll be uploading some WONDERFUL pics morla. In the meantime, check out our progression.
