After a very busy afternoon

Duane thinks that it's refreshment time, and I would have a very hard time disagreeing

I thought he was being nice but brain freeze -- brain freeze

My Gosh! Thank heavens that's over. What an experience.

and the game keeps on keeping on

Am I giving these guys a run for their money or what!

Saz is part of the team and is busy keeping the males of the species in line.

Me, Duane and Douglas Donaldson. I can whip their ass any time I want to!

Mini Golf at the Top Toy Shop

Jai and Duane had made plans to have a match of Mini Golf. Then decisions were made that perhaps the competition would be more valuable if others were to join in. It became a very serious event.

Jai is concentrating on the difficulty of a small ball, long stick and smaller hole

Focus. Focus. Deep breath.

Duane is concentrating on how best he might win. To cheat or not to cheat, that is question.

Absolute concentration here. Big stuff is going on.

What's happening on the rock

I thought it was time to share some of the doings of the other family members. As you can see, Duane is particularly busy

The waters at Cemetery Bay are still running towards the shore...

...and the lost and lonely nights where there's nothing to do can still be filled with the entertainment of Duane practising his fire performing. By the way Duane, the right hand end flame has gone out! Just thought I'd help

A lil bit o kulcha never ert no-one's

This afternoon we would invite you to join us as we gaze in awed delight at the precious artefacts held in the Pier Store Museum. With a bit of luck and a fair breeze, Madam Curator, Lisa Richards, will never ever see this blog!

First is a short spin on the wheel. Trying to imagine turning a huge sailing ship with a small bronze wheel is a very difficult thing to imagine. Jai thought he would have a go, to see just what it's like.

Now here he's pointing out some tapa cloth that the Pitcairn women used to make by pounding the plant fibres of a special tree. Miralda Warren is visiting Norfolk from Pitcairn Island. Miralda is a world expert on tapa making. If you follow the pointing finger you can see a magnificent sample in the background.

Now this is really something. On the wall is a reproduction of a drawing of Fletcher Christian of HMAV Bounty fame. Now Christian and his Polynesian wife, Mauatua begat Charles who in turn begat Maria, thus being grand-daughter of Fletcher. She married Mathew Quintal's grandson and they begat Olive Macey Quintal. He begat Laurie (Dossie) who begat Laurie (Dottie) who begat Joy, who begat Maree, who begat Jai, who is standing there in the Norfolk Island Museum looking at the sketch of his great, great .... oh never mind.

These are all tools from the days of whaling on Norfolk Island. Big Pop who had the privilege and the pleasure of dining out with Master Jai, a couple of hours beforehand, had been one of the men of the whaling days and has fascinating stories to tell.

And last but not least is the cannon. Jai was particularly pleased to have his photo taken beside this. I think Pirates of the Caribbean would do well in this here Museum. Particularly, Johnny Depp!

and then we left the restaurant

and as the heavens were opening, we thought we might take a few quick snaps on the randah

It is just so difficult for some people to smile. Sad really

Let's try it again shall we people.

His Mother's not here. Can't do a thing. Let's squash it!

What about me?

It's really late but someone's Mother is keeping an eye out, so let me share a few precious moments with you...

They tell us time and time again that 13 is a scary number. What can I say

This is his version of sitting quietly

I asked the little sod to eat nice.....

But what a sweetie. What a delight. Butter simply would not melt in its little mouth!
